Tippin’s Pies has been a Kansas City tradition for decades. Now you can enjoy the handcrafted quality pies everyday at Hen House markets. Our expert bakers bake the quality recipes fresh daily.

For over 30 years, Tippin’s pie has been a Kansas City tradition. Pie lovers from around the Kansas City area came to the restaurants to experience the most delicious pies within hundreds of miles. In the summer of 2004 the Tippin’s Restaurant and Pie Pantry closed its retail operations, but Hen House Markets realized the significance of the Tippin’s name, and what it meant to Kansas City. Hen House markets purchased the original Tippin’s Pie formulas and created Tippin’s Gourmet Pies, L.L.C., thus carrying on a Kansas City tradition of exceptional pies. You may go to your local Hen House market to pick up a pie in the bakery.
Know Your Cuts
Cube steak
Cube steaks are usually top round or top sirloin steaks that are then pounded flat with a meat tenderizer to make them thin, tender, and easy to cook.
Filet Mignon
Cut from the loin, this is the most tender cut of beef with a mild flavor.
Ground Round
Ground up portions of the round portion of the cow which is lean, economical, and great for a variety of recipes.
Prime Rib
Juicy and with rich flavor, this is one of the most tender cuts of meat, especially in the ribs. Prime rib is at Hen House during holiday seasons and beyond.
Ribeye
Boneless steak from the rib of the cow with generous marbling that creates a juicy, full flavor.
Rump Roast
Also known as bottom round roast, this lean cut of meat is great for roasting and for stew.
Strip Steak
Boneless or Bone-In, strip steak is a premium cut of loin known for its marbling and tenderness.
T-Bone Steak
This well-marbled cut consists of two lean steaks: the strip and the tenderloin, which are connected by a t-shaped bone.
Fishmonger’s Market

Hen House has the largest assortment of fresh seafood in Kansas City! Our seafood partners make dockside calls to our seafood buyers and then ship ocean-fresh seafood to us overnight.  As a result, we have an ever-changing array of fresh seafood available, so stop by and see what we have in store today!
