bacon strips, cooked & chopped

Bacon grease, reserved from strips

1medium onion, chopped

1 cupdiced carrots

3 tbspall-purpose flour

Method
- Cook bacon according to package instructions, reserving the grease. Add grease, onions, and carrots to a pot, sauteing until tender.
- Add in flour, and mix until fully incorporated. Then, add in water and milk and stir to combine. Bring to a boil and add in potatoes, corn, pepper, and chicken bouillon cubes.
- Let the chowder simmer on medium-high heat for 15-20 minutes, or until thickened.
- Add in cubed ham, diced bacon, and shredded cheese and cook until the cheese is melted.
- Season more to taste, then serve hot.
